Ad Revenue
Report the ad revenue your own websites earn — connect an Adsterra API key, pick a date range, and read earnings by site, placement, country and SmartLink.
Ad Revenue is the other side of the advertising coin: not what you spend, but what your own sites earn. It reports publisher earnings from Adsterra — a trend line, revenue by site, top placements, top countries and SmartLink performance. It is read-only by design.
Before you start
Ad Revenue is an owner-only nav entry and needs the Adsterra plan feature, plus an Adsterra API key. The key is verified live against Adsterra before it is stored.
Adsterra is the only supported network
Other providers appear in the picker and say honestly that they are not available yet — they open with no form. If your revenue comes from another network, this page will stay empty and there is no workaround in the product.
Ad Revenue is not Ad Manager
They sit in different parts of the product because they answer opposite questions.
| Ad Manager | Ad Revenue | |
|---|---|---|
| Question | What am I spending on ads? | What are my sites earning from ads? |
| Lives under | Growth | Finance |
| Providers | Google Ads, Meta Ads | Adsterra |
| Can it change anything? | Yes, through staged changes you apply | No — read-only |
If you are looking for a client's ad spend, you want Ad Manager.
Connect Adsterra
Open Ad Revenue
At FinanceAd Revenue. If nothing is connected, the empty state carries a connect prompt — you can also go through SettingsIntegrationsAdsterra.
Paste your Adsterra API key
The field says exactly that: Paste your Adsterra API key.
Save
The key is verified against Adsterra before it is stored. A wrong key fails here rather than showing you an empty report later.
To change it later, paste a new one — the hint reads Paste a new key to replace the stored one. The stored key is never shown back to you.
Read the report
| Setting | What it changes | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Date range | The reporting window, as a segmented control. Includes a Custom option for an arbitrary span. | — |
| Website | Selecting a site in the revenue table scopes Top placements and Top countries to that site. Clearing it goes back to across all websites. | — |
| Panel | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Trend | Revenue over the selected range |
| Revenue by site | Which of your properties earns what |
| Top placements | Which ad units on the selected site perform |
| Top countries | Where the traffic that earns comes from |
| SmartLinks | SmartLink performance |
Selecting a website is the useful move: Top placements and Top countries are far more actionable scoped to one property than averaged across all of them.
With nothing in the window you get No revenue recorded in this range — which is a real answer, not a loading state. Check the range before you check the connection.
This surface never writes anything
No spend, no sends, no changes against Adsterra. It reads your earnings and displays them. Nothing you do on this page can affect a live placement.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Ad Revenue is missing from the menu | Owner-only entry, and it needs the Adsterra plan feature | Check with the workspace owner |
| The connect form rejects the key | It failed live verification against Adsterra | Re-copy it from the Adsterra dashboard |
| Your network is not in the picker, or it opens with no form | Only Adsterra is supported today | No workaround in the product |
| No revenue recorded in this range | The window has no earnings | Widen the range, or use Custom |
| Placements and countries look wrong for a site | No website is selected, so the figures are across all sites | Select the site in the revenue table |
| You cannot read the stored key back | Keys are write-only once stored | Paste a new key to replace it |
