Write and design a post

Draft a social post by hand or from an AI brief, work through the generated options, and edit one variant's design, caption and brand colours in Composer Studio.

Compose is the drafting tab. You either write the post yourself, or give the AI a short brief and pick from the options it returns. Either way the result is a draft holding one or more variants, and nothing leaves Zyan until you schedule or publish it.

Before you start

You need create or edit access on Compose. The AI brief additionally needs AI writing switched on for your workspace — that is a switch Zyan holds, not one you can turn on yourself.

Drafts on the left, options on the right. The account rail decides where a post can go — compose with nothing selected and the post has no destination, which is the most common reason Publish stays disabled.

Draft vs variant

A Compose run produces one draft that holds one to six variants — alternative versions of the same post. You pick a variant, then save it, schedule it, or send it for approval. Everything in the right-hand panel is about variants; everything you save goes to the calendar as a post.

Write a post by hand

Open Compose and click Create post

Content CenterCompose

Choose Channel and Format

Format is a row of pills: Text, Image, Video, Carousel, Story or Reel.

Write the draft

Fill the Draft title and the caption, and add images, an article URL or a Google Business CTA as the format requires.

Wrap a link for tracking

Use Track this link on an article or CTA link if you want clicks attributed back to the post.

Save draft

Reopen it later with Edit post.

Saving a draft schedules nothing

A saved manual draft sits in the composer. It is not dated, not queued and not published. Dating happens on Content CenterCalendar; publishing happens in the publish dialog.

Write from an AI brief

AI ideas is a two-step brief. On an existing manual draft the same button reads Generate alternatives.

Step one — Where should it go?

Tick up to six Channels and pick a Format. Continue stays disabled until at least one channel is ticked.

Step two — What should it say?

Optionally start from a preset, then write the brief and set Tone, Goal and How many options. Attach source images if you have photography the AI should write around.

Generate

Options land in the Options panel on the right. Cancel stops a running generation.

Work through the options

Switch between Options and History with the segmented control — History holds saved versions of the draft.

What you can do with a variant

Each variant has a kebab menu of follow-up actions.

If a save is not confirmed, use Retry save

When Zyan cannot confirm a save you get The last save wasn't confirmed — retry the same request and a Retry save button. Use it. Saving again as a fresh request can create a second copy of the same draft.

Composer Studio

Studio is the full-page editor for one variant: live design preview, caption, hashtags, brand colours, AI revision and revision history.

Open Studio

From a variant's kebab menu, choose Open in Studio.

Edit the copy and the design

The preview updates as you type. Use Revise with AI for copy changes you would rather describe than write.

Set brand colours

Primary, Accent, Background, Text and Secondary apply to the rendered design.

Roll back if needed

Revision history lists earlier states, and Revert to original returns the variant to how it was generated.

Back to composer

Your changes stay on the variant.

Image generation is not available

Generating or regenerating an image from a variant does not currently produce one — the request is refused by the image service regardless of your workspace settings. Attach your own photography with Source images, or design in Studio using the brand colours.
