Plans, credits and seats
How plan features and permissions gate access separately, how pooled credits and packs expire, and what the owner-only Plan & Credits page controls.
Two things decide whether you can use something in Zyan, and they are set in different places by different people. Your plan decides whether a capability exists in your workspace at all. Permissions decide which teammates can see or change it. Credits, seats and storage are all allowances that come with the plan.
Plan & Credits is workspace-owner-only
Only the single workspace owner account sees SettingsPlan & Credits. A full-access admin cannot see the section, cannot buy credits and cannot change the plan. This is deliberate, and there is no permission that unlocks it.
The two gates

They stack, and neither substitutes for the other:
- A permission cannot unlock a feature your plan does not sell. Granting Builder to a teammate on a plan without Builder changes nothing.
- A plan cannot show a teammate something their grid denies. Buying the tier does not open the area for anyone but the owner until permissions are set.

What the Plan & Credits page shows
Open Plan & Credits
Go to SettingsPlan & Credits, signed in as the workspace owner.
Read the current plan card
Plan name, monthly price, any discount, and the credits included each cycle.
Click Manage plan to change anything
This opens the hosted billing portal, where you change plan, update the payment method or cancel.
Click Refresh on the credit balance to re-read it
Useful after a large run or a top-up.
Click Buy on a credit pack to top up
Bigger packs cost less per credit.

Credits
Credits are a pooled workspace balance, not a per-person one. They are spent by the AI surfaces: SEO research runs, drafting, prospecting turns, voice minutes and the Zyan AI assistant.

Two rules cause almost every surprise:
- Included credits reset at renewal and never stack. An unused balance from this cycle does not carry into the next one.
- Purchased pack credits sit on top and expire after 60 days. They are a buffer, not a bank.
Metered surfaces stop at zero
Nothing overdraws. When the pooled balance hits zero, the AI surfaces stop rather than running up a bill. If a run halts mid-month, check the balance before you check anything else.
To recover, open SettingsPlan & Credits, press Refresh, then either buy a pack under Credit top-up or move to a tier with a larger included allowance.
Seats
Seats are how many staff members your plan allows.
- Pending invitations count. An invitation nobody has accepted still holds its seat until it is accepted or revoked.
- Builder seats are a separate cap with their own count, on plans that sell Builder.
- The workspace owner is exempt from the Builder seat cap.
- On unlimited plans the seat banner on Team is hidden entirely.
Free a seat by removing a member, or by revoking a pending invitation under TeamInvitations.
Changing plans
Manage plan hands you to the hosted billing portal. Plan changes, payment method updates and cancellation all happen there rather than inside Zyan.
Changing plans ends legacy pricing
If your workspace is on a legacy price, moving plans through Manage plan moves you onto current pricing. There is no way back to the old rate. Confirm what you are on before you change tier.
Invoices and storage
Invoices are listed on the same page with their status and amount, and each has a View invoice link to the hosted copy you can download or forward to your accountant.
The Storage meter covers files, assets and Builder projects against your plan's allowance. It is a workspace total, not a per-client one.
This is your Zyan subscription, not your client prices
Settings → Plan & Credits is what you pay Zyan. What you charge your clients lives in the Billing catalog, which is a separate surface with its own permission. See The billing catalog.
Use a browser, not the iPhone admin app
Manage plan, the invoice links and the credit-pack Buy buttons are hidden inside the iOS admin shell. Open the workspace in a browser to use them.
Troubleshooting
