Connect Google Ads and Meta Ads
Authorise Google Ads by OAuth, pick a manager account, connect Meta Ads and choose ad accounts, and read what each connection state is telling you.
Ad Manager shows nothing until a provider is connected. Google Ads connects by signing in with a Google account that manages your ad accounts. Meta Ads connects by logging in with Facebook and choosing which ad accounts Zyan may read. Both are owner work, and both verify against the provider before anything is stored.
Before you start
Connecting either provider is owner-only. For Google you need a Google account that already has access to the ad accounts you manage; for Meta, a Facebook account with access to the ad accounts.
Connect Google Ads
Open the Google Ads tile
At SettingsIntegrationsGoogle Ads. The card is titled Google Ads and lists Connected Google accounts.
Click Add Google account
Then Connect with Google. The card tells you what it wants: Sign in with a Google account that manages your ad accounts.
Grant access at Google
If you decline, the card reports Google Ads access was not granted.
Select a manager account
Where the Google account reaches ad accounts through a manager, choose it. The alternative is Use direct account access.
Return to Ad Manager and Sync
On success the card says Google Ads connected. Your accessible ad accounts are ready to sync.
Google connection states
The pill on the card is the fastest diagnosis you have.
| State | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Connected | Google accepted the stored credentials | Nothing |
| Choose a manager | The account reaches ad accounts via a manager you have not picked | Select a manager account, or use direct account access |
| Incomplete | This connection is not fully configured | Finish the step it names — usually the manager choice |
| Reconnect needed | Verification failed — reconnect this Google account | Re-run Connect with Google for that account |
Each connected account row offers the same three actions: verify, pick a manager, or disconnect per account. You can hold more than one Google account on the workspace — the card counts them as N of M.
Disconnect the account, not the integration
Disconnect is per Google account. If one of several accounts went stale, remove that one rather than tearing down the whole connection and re-authorising everything.
Connect Meta Ads
Open the Meta Ads tile
At SettingsIntegrationsMeta Ads. The card explains its own scope: Campaign sync, Lead Ads capture, and reporting for your ad accounts.
Click Log in with Facebook
The ad-account chooser stays locked until you do — it says Log in with Facebook first.
Choose ad accounts
Tick the accounts Zyan may use, then Use these accounts. Rows can read Active, Not active or Over plan limit.
Click Verify connection
On success: Meta accepted the stored ads credentials. Until then the card reads Not verified yet.
Change accounts reopens the chooser. Replace credentials swaps them without disconnecting. Disconnect asks Disconnect Meta Ads? first.
Settings reference
| Setting | What it changes | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Add Google account | Starts the Google OAuth flow for one more Google account on the workspace. | — |
| Select a manager account | Which Google Ads manager account Zyan reaches your ad accounts through. | — |
| Use direct account access | Skips the manager and uses the Google account's direct access to the ad accounts. | — |
| Use a custom Google Ads credential pack | Advanced. Only for workspaces that must use their own OAuth client. | — |
| Log in with Facebook | Authorises Meta Ads for the workspace. | — |
| Choose ad accounts | Which Meta ad accounts Zyan may sync, capture leads from and report on. | — |
| User access token (Lead Ads) | Optional. Enables Lead Ads capture from the chosen accounts. | — |
| Verify connection | Re-checks the stored Meta credentials against Meta. | — |
The advanced paths are for a reason
Advanced manual connection on Google and Advanced: connect with a token on Meta exist for workspaces that must use their own OAuth client or a long-lived token. If you do not know that you need them, use the sign-in buttons — they are the supported path and they verify the same way.
First sync
Once connected, go to GrowthAd Manager and press Sync — Sync Google, Sync Meta or Sync All depending on the tab. Sync pulls current metrics and campaign state from the provider. It is a read: it never pushes an edit you have staged, and it never creates a campaign at the provider.
What Zyan can and cannot do on your behalf
| Zyan can | Zyan cannot |
|---|---|
| Read campaigns, metrics, ad groups and demographics | Create a campaign at Google or Meta for you |
| Stage budget and bid changes for your approval | Apply a change without you pressing Apply |
| Capture Meta Lead Ads into the Lead Manager | Run a rule that changes spend automatically |
| Generate reports from synced data | Exceed the frozen money guards, even if you insist |
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The Google tab shows Connect a Google Ads account | No OAuth connection exists for the workspace | Complete the owner OAuth in Settings → Integrations → Google Ads |
| The card says Verification failed — reconnect this Google account | The grant expired or was revoked at Google | Reconnect that account specifically |
| The card says This connection is not fully configured | A manager account has not been chosen | Select a manager account, or use direct account access |
| Google Ads access was not granted | Consent was declined during sign-in | Run Connect with Google again and accept the scopes |
| Meta says Not verified yet | Credentials are stored but unverified | Click Verify connection |
| A Meta ad account reads Over plan limit | More ad accounts selected than the plan allows | Deselect some, or talk to the owner about the plan |
| You cannot find either card | Connecting is owner-only | Ask the workspace owner |
