What Zyan AI remembers
Durable notes the assistant carries between conversations — how to add one, keep it correct, scope it to a client, and delete what is out of date.
Memory is the short list of things the assistant should carry from one conversation to the next: how you price, who the main contact is at a client, the tone your agency writes in. It lives under Zyan AIMemory in the sidebar.
A memory is either agency-wide or attached to one client. Client memories are why the dock can answer about a specific account without you re-explaining the relationship every time.
Before you start
Memory is part of Zyan AI, so it needs the same plan feature, permission and workspace flag — see Meet Zyan AI.
Add a memory yourself
Open the Memory section
HomeZyan AIMemory.
Click Add memory
The field reads Something to remember….
Write one fact, plainly
One idea per memory. Short lines are easier to correct later than a paragraph.
Save it
It is available from the next message onward, in the dock as well as on the page.
To change one, use Edit memory and type over it. The Memory menu on a row also carries delete.
Saving from the dock
While you are looking at a client, the Assistant dock offers AssistantSave to memory with the prompt "What should the assistant remember about this client?". That is the quickest way to build client memory, because the client is already the context.
Nothing is remembered without your click
The assistant does not write memories on its own. Every memory in the list got there because someone clicked, which also means it will not quietly pick up a correction you only said in passing — save it.
What to put in it
| Good memory | Why |
|---|---|
| "We price web builds as a one-off plus a monthly maintenance plan." | Shapes every proposal and draft |
| "Never use exclamation marks in client emails." | A standing style rule you would otherwise repeat |
| "This client signs off through their operations manager, not the owner." | Changes who a draft is addressed to |
| "Our reporting month runs to the 25th." | Stops the assistant assuming calendar months |
| Poor memory | Why |
|---|---|
| "The Q3 campaign starts Monday." | Goes stale in a week and then misleads |
| A pasted page of notes | Hard to correct, and most of it is not a standing fact |
| Anything already in Zyan | It can read the record, and a second copy in memory only drifts from it |
Correct rather than add
If an answer is wrong because of a memory, edit that memory. Adding a second, contradicting one leaves the assistant holding both.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The Memory section is missing | Zyan AI is not available to you — plan feature, permission or workspace flag | See Meet Zyan AI |
| It keeps using something out of date | A stale memory is still in the list | Open Edit memory and correct it, or delete the row from the Memory menu |
| It forgot a correction you made mid-chat | Corrections in a conversation are not memories | Save it explicitly with Add memory or Save to memory |
| A client memory applies to the wrong account | It was saved agency-wide rather than against the client | Delete it and re-save it from the dock with that client open |
| It saved nothing after an answer you liked | The assistant never writes memory on its own | Use Save to memory on the draft |
